FLOWERS OF THE SAN JACINTO MOUNTAINS: Yellow Pine Forest

This is a collection of photographs taken in the San Jacinto Mountains. They were all taken at various places in and above the yellow pine belt. This starts at various elevations with the first trees seen usually being the Colter pine. The southern cut off is Tahquits Peak and Red Tahquits Peak. This is a work in progress and doesn't pretend to be an exhaustive representation of all the flowers and plants in this area. Also, the identifications are as accurate as possible but there may very well be mistakes. If you see an error please, contact me at ebaecht@gmail.com.

Ultimately, there will be four sections: trees, shrubs and bushes, annuals, and perennials. This first version is a mix of annuals and perennials. There will also be collections of pictures from other places such as Joshua Tree, the Santa Rosas, and the Mojave and Sonora Desert.

The plants are in order by genus and the captions list in order, genus, species, common name, where the picture was taken, and the date.
