Elize Van Zandt
Elize has been running wild since childhood, but only started leading organized hikes when she became a naturalist for the National Park Service. She came to Joshua Tree National Park in 1992 and joined CVHC in 1995; in 2000 she began leading hikes for CVHC. Elize likes to lead easy to moderate hikes in both the low desert and in the surrounding mountains and parks, taking the time to enjoy the beauty and uniqueness of our natural landscapes. Like Thoreau, she believes that in wildness is the preservation of the world.
